The 11th edition of the world’s most popular cricket tournament – ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is just few days away. The tournament will take place between 14th February – 29th March in Australia and New Zealand. The history of cricket world cup goes back to 1975, when England hosted the inaugural edition of the world cup. Since then the popularity of this tournament has grown multiple times.

The opening match of the tournament is between home team New Zealand and 1996 world cup champion Sri Lanka on 14th February at Christchurch. The final match of the cup will be played at MCG, Melbourne on 29th March.
Defending Champion India will start their world cup journey on 15th February when they meet arch-rival Pakistan at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide.
14 teams will compete for the world cup title. They are categorized into two groups of 7 teams each – Group A & Group B.
Group A – Australia, New Zealand, England, Sri Lanka, Scotland, United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh
Group B – India, Pakistan, West Indies, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Ireland.
